In collaboration with El Museo del Barrio and The National Puerto Rican Day Parade, El Festival de la Palabra presents Afropoetics: Honoring the Afro-Descendant Puerto Rican Legacy.

Mayra Santos Febres, internationally-acclaimed author and creator of Puerto Rico’s Festival de la Palabra, will be joined by this stellar lineup of Puerto Rican writers and poets from both ends of the diaspora, for a special evening of poetry readings and other surprises, in honor of the Afro-descendant legacy of Puerto Rican culture. Writers and Poets include, Sandra A. Garcia-Betancourt, Carlos Manuel Rivera, Yolanda Arroyo Pizarro, Caridad De La Luz, Bonafide Rojas, and Dahlma Llanos-Figueroa.
