ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Crystal Gregory is a sculptor whose work investigates textile structure through a variety of materials. Gregory was granted a Full Merit Scholarship to attend The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and received an MFA from the Fiber and Material Studies Department. In 2013 Gregory was awarded The Leonore Annenberg Fellowship and moved to Amsterdam to take a position as Artist-In-Residence at The Gerrit Rietveld Academie of Art. She has shown in galleries nationally and abroad and has received fellowships to attend artist residencies at Vermont Studio Center and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Gregory live and works in Brooklyn.
Nico Brown is a dance artist originally from rural Illinois. His work attempts to reconcile his experience with expansive landscape against his love of extravagant, full-bodied dancing. The result is often described as minimal, formal, and irrevocably queer. He holds an MFA in Dance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he holds a BFA in Theatre Stage Management as well. He is a Fresh Tracks at New York Live Arts recipient, a Makehouse Sponsored Artist, and a Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship Recipient. He is currently the Director of Education for the Trisha Brown Dance Company.
Queens-based artist working in a variety of media, including painting, collage and installation. Maria holds an MFA from Northern Illinois University, where she has also taught foundations art courses. She has participated in 5 artist residency programs and has shown work at multiple venues including Arcilesi And Homberg Fine Art in New York, Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, Evanston Art Center in Evanston, IL.
