Join Brooklyn Independent Media for a live in-studio performance and interview with the Brooklyn-based band Dragons of Zynth.
Dragons of Zynth (D.O.Z.), the NYC indie/psych rock outfit fronted by Ghanaian twin brothers Aku and Akwetey, first won notice with the demo recording of their first single "War Lover" in 2004. The band gained attention early on for their live show opening for TV on the Radio in 2005 and collaborating with U.K. outfit Massive Attack later that year. Their debut full-length, Coronation Thieves, was released in September 2007 and was produced by David Sitek. In support of the album, D.O.Z. embarked on a multi-national tour with Yeasayer and U.S. dates with poet, musician Saul Williams in 2008. The band's sophomore album is expected in 2014.
B-Side, Brooklyn Independent Media's live in-studio music series, features performances from emerging and established musicians on select Thursday evenings. These performances are open to the public, however our studio space is limited.
Doors open at 7pm. Guests who would like to be part of the in-studio audience are encouraged to arrive early. Show starts around 7:30pm.
