This installment of the Museum's popular lunch time illustrated talk series will feature Parrish Director Terrie Sultan talking about the summer special exhibition, Chuck Close Photographs,
Although Chuck Close is known primarily as a painter, all his works initially derives from a photograph. In addition to using photographic images as source material for paintings and prints, Close is deeply engaged in photography as a medium in and of itself. Throughout his career he has worked with a variety of approaches, from large format Polaroid images to small daguerreotypes. Chuck Close Photographs is the first full-scale survey of the artist’s work in photography, organized by Sultan and co-curator Colin Westerbeck.
Lunch specials will be available for purchase at The Golden Pear Café at the Museum.
