Storm King Art Center | Old Pleasant Hill Road
The 2015 Outdoor Concert series at Storm King kicks off with a concert featuring Porches and Frankie Cosmos. Enjoy views of the Art Center’s celebrated sculpture collection installed across the fields, rolling hills, and woodlands. Visiting with children? Cylindrical Giants, our Children and Families program, will take place alongside the concert in the Meadows area. This drop-in workshop program begins at 1pm and will run until 3pm.
Porches + Frankie Cosmos
Porches is the proliferation of Aaron Maine’s love affair with music. Never quite landing in any particular niche, they navigate through genres, learning, obsessing, and absorbing. Great victories and great defeats, cosmic or tangible, are the underlying elements that remain constant through the bands exploration. Kevin Farrant, Aaron Maine, Seiya Jewell, Cameron Wisch, and Greta Kline are the current members that contribute to the glowing, dark, and powerful live performances that Porches continues to provide. Frankie Cosmos is a 4-piece band consisting of Greta Kline (vocals, guitar), Aaron Maine (drums), David Maine (bass), and Gabrielle Smith (keyboard, vocals). Their performances vary from slow, sad ballads to goofy Rock ’n Roll love songs. The four members are each influenced by a wide variety of music, and all come from distinct musical backgrounds.
The 2015 Outdoor Concert Series is organized with Ground Control Touring. Concerts are FREE with admission.
