Columbia University MFA Program
The Jewish Museum | 1109 5th Ave at 92nd Street
Sunday, May 10
6:30 – 9 pm
This recurring program, a collaboration between Columbia University’s School of the Arts and the Jewish Museum, offers current MFA candidates and recent alumni of the Visual Arts Program an opportunity to develop and present new time-based and ephemeral work in response to a special exhibition.
On May 10, twelve artists affiliated with Columbia will respond to the exhibition Repetition and Difference. The exhibition brings together objects made in multiples or series, both contemporary art and works from the Museum’s historical collection, in order to explore how artists embed crucial differences within the process of iteration. As with last year’s program, this evening promises to encompass a stunning variety of artistic media, including performance, installation, and video art.
