PLATFORM 2014: Diary of an Image by DD Dorvillier
SEE BELOW FOR DATES & TIMES

Dorvillier invites artists with whom she has important artistic relationships to perform on four different evenings. In response, each artist presents a solo reflecting shared artistic concerns or historic connections. All performances will be followed by a conversation between Dorvillier and the artists.

Katerina Andreou, Oren Barnoy, Nibia Pastrana are dancers/collaborators in Dorvillier's A catalogue of steps

Katerina Andreou's Man├Ęges is a solo dance work recently presented as part of the Festival Critique in Angers, France. A playlist of tracks played back through headphones serves as the base for Andreou's kinetic vocabulary. "I explored the physical and emotional affect that this playlist has on me while moving, and my work was to use it for its physicality, without allowing it to impose itself on my performance of the piece." Katerina is also a main collaborator and performer in Diary of an Image and on the upcoming Extra Shapes.

Performer, artist, and musician Oren Barnoy performs Death On the Cobb with music composition by Cristina Jasen. Barnoy challenges the notion of existence by attempting to remove performance from his performance. Oren was a collaborator on human future dance corps' Coming Out of the Night with Names (2004).

Nibia Pastrana is a dance artist based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Says Pastrana of her solo residuo: "this dance is matter." A reversible surface made of vinyl the length of Pastrana's body undergoes transformation as it is displaced in various urban landscapes.
