Horny hillbillies and ornery old cusses try to lay their greasy hands on gorgeous country cousin Lorna Maitland in Meyer’s follow-up to his hit LORNA (1964), a rural drama set in Spooner, Missouri, during the Depression. A bawdy barnyard pastiche that would turn Lil’ Abner creator Al Capp green with envy, its evocative cinematography and palpable sense of place make it one of Meyer’s greatest films.
