Obscuring Objects presents two sets of photographs sharing a language that uses incongruous juxtapositions of images and objects; irreverent interventions on appropriated images of female icons; and self-portraits masked to suggest a tenuous, unstable sense of self. Some eggs, some flowers with common associations, helping to stage an absurdist comedy in the anxious everyday.

Beside Obscuring Objects, MFA candidates Sofia Debustamonte, Hyun Jung Ahn, Hyun Jung Lee, Juan Diego Prieto and Ella Desmond are also presenting their thesis works at Steuben Gallery, Dekalb Gallery and Pratt Studio.

Please come and join us for the opening on Monday April 10, from 6-9PM!
