Pratt is one of hundreds of sites participating in Open House New York Weekend on Saturday, October 15. Tour the campus of the Pratt Institute, a renowned college that educates creative thinkers from around the world. Dozens of structures built between the 1880s and World War II have earned the campus a spot on the National Register of Historic Places, while more recent buildings have won awards for their innovative designs. Campus buildings include Higgins Hall (Steven Holl), the Juliana Curran Terian Design Center (Hanrahan Meyers), Myrtle Hall (WASA/Studio A), and Vincent A. Stabile Hall (Wayne Berg of PKSB).
Architecture Professor Anthony Caradonna will provide overall campus tours starting from Higgins Hall at 61 St. James Place at 10 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1 PM.
Reservations are not required. The tours are approximately one hour in length.
Open House New York promotes greater appreciation of the city's built environment, and is recognized for its signature weekend event that showcases New York City's most architecturally and culturally significant spaces and places.
