In partnership with Minds Behind the Music, join us for a discussion on industry trends, challenges, and career advice from women behind the music including Leota Blacknor VP, Urban Marketing & Label Acquisitions at Caroline Records; Katie Schlosser, Head of Label Relations for North America at Spotify; Nicole George-Middleton, Vice President of Membership, Rhythm & Soul, at ASCAP; and others. The discussion will be moderated by Anastasia Wright, owner of communications company IMG Agency, and Executive Director of Minds Behind the Music, Inc. Following the discussion, there will be a performance by Tangina Stone.

In her role at Caroline Records, Leota Blacknor oversees marketing & brand strategy for 50 Cent, Tyrese, Raekwon, Chrisette Michele, Vivian Green, and more. Prior to Caroline, she's held the title of Director, Urban Marketing at Virgin Records; GM, Ruff Ryders Records and Sr. Dir., Administration at Bad Boy.

Katie Schlosser joined Spotify in 2011, eager to help the music industry transition into a new era of access & discovery. In her role, Katie leads a team focused on education and advocacy across the industry and marketing & promotion of music on the platform. Katie has held previous roles at Universal Music Distribution and the renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra. Katie studied ethnomusicology at Berklee College of Music. Digital by day, analog by night - you'll find her sifting through record bins to expand her collection of African vinyl.

As a lawyer by trade and a devoted music lover at heart, Nicole George- Middleton has taken on a role that puts all of her diverse talents and experience to use. As Vice President of Membership, Rhythm & Soul, at ASCAP (the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers), a membership association of more than 540,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, Nicole is responsible for the oversight and daily operational management of ASCAP's Rhythm and Soul Membership department on a worldwide basis. Nicole attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate degree, but it was while she was getting her law degree at Brooklyn Law School that she decided to pursue a career in the music business.

An entrepreneur at heart, Anastasia Wright, who is Moderator for the evening, is the owner of communications company IMG Agency, Executive Director of non-profit Minds Behind the Music, Inc. and serves on the board of Women in Music. In her short career, she's worked for 11 major recording labels, Alloy Inc., Cornerstone Agency, VEVO and more. Though non-traditional, her unique background has allowed her to learn nearly every facet of the music business while growing her companies. In June 2014, she departed from RCA Records where she worked in publicity to re-focus on IMG Agency and Minds Behind the Music, Inc.
