Center for Architecture at IDEAS CITY | 536 LaGuardia Place
The Center for Architecture will present a double feature.
On May 3rd, from 5–7:00 p.m., American Institute of Architects New York President Jill Lerner (FAIA) and President-elect Lance Jay Brown (FAIA) will have an exchange about breakthrough ideas that will shape New York’s new decade. The conversation will serve as an introduction to The Future of the City exhibition, opening for preview that day at the Center for Architecture.
The setting for this talk is the exhibition The Future of the City, which highlights design and policy ideas that relate to the legacy of the last decade and the future of New York City as it moves into the next mayoral administration. A particular focus will be the recommendations of the interdisciplinary Post-Sandy Strategic Initiative relating to housing, waterfront, buildings and building technology, codes and zoning, and transportation and urban infrastructure.
The Future of the City will be open May 3, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, May 4th, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
