The Metropolitan Museum of Art | 1000 Fifth Avenue
Percussionist and composer Glenn Kotche (of Wilco) and Chicago-based ensemble Third Coast Percussion are creating a unique program for Met Museum Presents, which centers on one of the most extraordinary objects in the Met and Musical Instruments department's collection, an 1880 Rock Harmonicon, also known as a stone dulcimer or a geological piano.
In addition, these inspired musicians will perform some of the most vital percussion-based classical music of the twentieth century including Steve Reich's Music for Pieces of Wood and Nagoya Marimbas.
Third Coast Percussion is the Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Notre Dame's DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.
Bring the Kids for $1.
Tickets to this event include Museum admission.
